NEW STENCIL DESIGNS COMING MID MARCH

I have some new stencil designs that are currently in production and should be availible mid March through Joggles.com. I will be doing a stencil giveaway as soon as I receive my copies and see how many extras they send me. This set's theme is sort of wonky I'm calling it Rounded Corners. Although a lot of them look like they are not related they actually work off of one another. Last year, as I lived in the recliner in my living room recovering from my surgery, my lovely friends thought to bring me a blank sketch book and markers. Truth be told I only needed the sketch book. It might seem funny but I don't think anyone has ever given me a blank sketch book as a gift before. I don't have many creative friends living close to me and not until the last five years or so did anyone close to me other than my immediate family know that I was an artist. It was something that I kept close to my heart. Mostly out of fear, a fear that I no longer have time for and frankly don't want in my life anymore. Anyway as I sat in the recliner not really able to move, the blank sketchbook sat next to me staring at me begging to be used. I had not done much creatively for a few months. I look back in my Instagram feed and when I see the post from December 17th 2024 I cringe. I was in so much pain and trying to smile through it. What you don't know was that I was trying to record it as quickly as I could so that I could get back in a hot bath because that was the only way I could feel something other than the pain.

Back to the sketch book, I picked it up and started searching through Pinterest as I often do looking for inspiration. I started with some zentangle patterns, my go to when I need to calm my mind. I kept seeing rounded corner techniques. So that is what I did, they were easy and gave my brain some movement into the creative direction it needed. Here are some of what I was doing at the time. I found more in in my notebook that I took with me on the many visits in and out of the doctors offices.

From these doodles and a few more is where I found inspiration for the next line of stencils. Check out this video showing a time lapse of how two of the new stencils came into being.
